About Master Zan

​

Master Zan began the Korean martial art of  Taekwondo in the early Spring of 2008 and quickly fell in love with the sport. As a colored belt, she was able to study under many highly esteemed taekwondo masters in North Carolina and Virginia who spurred her on to local and state victories. In 2011, she received her first black belt from the World Taekwondo Federation at the U.S. Taekwondo Center in Virginia Beach, VA. Now over 15 years later, Zan is a master, fourth-degree black belt, national referee, and International competitor.

 

Over the last 15 years, Master Zan has been competing in taekwondo at the local, state, regional, national, and international levels. Master Zan secured a bronze medal at the 2015 National Championships and is a 2-time North Carolina State Champion. Master Zan has trained with the US Olympic Team Coach Juan Moreno and has had extensive training with Rhode Island Peak Performance Team Coach Tom Chea who personally trained 2012 US Taekwondo Olympic medalist Paige McPherson. Master Zan has competed at the US Open and National Team Trials and has participated in numerous taekwondo training seminars and camps across the region.

 

Originally hailing from New England, Master Zan is a local Pamlico County resident who has a passion to share her knowledge and skill with others and to teach children and adults alike how to build confidence.
